2008 Bagh-E-Noor Competition (4th Prize from among 70 participants)
Tehran, Iran - 120000 Sq.m (1290000 Sq.ft) of commercial, office and sport spaces
Architect: Arvin Nassim yazd
The project site is located in a residential area and the project program was to design a recreational center, consisting of commercial wings, an office building, sports complex, and cultural spaces, such as cinemas. The intention of this was to provide one of the greatest commercial centers in Western Tehran. There are two effective elements in the site. First, there is a 10% slope from Northern part of the land to the South. The other main noticeable element is the great green spot, full of pine trees located on the northern part of the site. The main concept was to bring the green area inside the site, therefore making a connection between the park and the project. Thus, the buildings are surrounded by the greenery
and the platform is covered with a sustainable green roof.
All the office spaces and residential spaces are facing South and North so they will avoid the direct Eastern and Western sunlight and are additionally covered with horizontal louvers.
