2006 Tabriz International Carpet Tradecenter Competition (3th Prize from among 60 participants)
Tabriz, Iran - 24000 Sq.m ( 258000 Sq.ft) of exhibition and trade center
Architect: Arvin Nassim yazd
The main concept consists of two extended cubes which are situated next to each other and one is slightly rotated. Each of these extended cubes is covered with an envelope and is connected to each other with two bridges. These cubes are an abstract form of the old platforms in Persian bazaars and the
skin resembles the carpet laying on the platforms. This building has seven levels including: three basement floors, ground floor and three floors on the ground. The mechanical spaces and stores are located on the 3rd basement floor, while parking is on the 2nd and 1st basement floors. The ground floor consists of the main entrance, office entrance, exhibition areas, temporary gallery, shops and hypermarket. The first and second floors are the main spaces of this project, where the carpet shops and bazaars can be found. All the office areas are located on the southwest of the building on 1st and 2nd floors. These spaces have their own entrance and vertical access
from the ground floor.
The 3rd floor consists of workshops and carpet making ateliers, washing areas, and some local restaurants.
I was awarded third prize from among 60 other participants.
